Obituary for Mary Ellen "Ma" Southerly
Southerly, Mary “Ma” Ellen, 78, of Paden City, WV passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her home while surrounded by her family.
She was born June 19, 1936 in Frogs Creek, WV daughter of the late Carl and Leota (Rice) Wolfe.
She was the wife of the late SSGT. Paul Alexander Southerly, a homemaker, she was best known in the community as “Ma” from Ma’s and Pa’s Arcade and from Paul’s Certified, she traveled the world with her late husband and their six children, Mary “Ma” loved everyone she met and quickly accepted them into her family as her own family member and a Protestant by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, SSGT. Paul Alexander Southerly; son, Paul E. Southerly, Sr.; daughter, Mary K. Lewis; son-in-law, Chad Chambers; two grandsons, Steven W. Southerly and Zachary Taylor and several siblings.
Surviving are her children; Jerry (Donna) Southerly, Steven (Lou) Southerly, Rita Chambers and Janice (Roger) Hall; son-in-law, Jeff Lewis; step-children, Jean (Stephen) Cox and Paul A. (Jeannette) Southerly, Jr.; siblings, Marie Good, Janice (Johnny) Rhoads, Gay (Bobby) Withrow and Dicky (Wilma) Wolfe; four special mentions, Mona Oblinger, Terri Stier, Nelda Glover and Judy Goodson several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At “Ma’s” request there will be no service. Interment to be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Mary’s name, to the Zachary Taylor Irrevocable Trust Fund by stopping by any WesBanco Bank.
