Sylvia B. Brown, 73, of Jacksonburg, WV died Friday, September 29, 2017 at her granddaughter’s house while surrounded by her family.

Sylvia was born January 1, 1944 in Coburn, WV, daughter of the late George W. and Ola J. (Greathouse) Gump.

She was a retired cook for Wetzel County School, member of Pine Grove Ladies Auxiliary Unit 81 and attended First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Gump, James Norman Gump, Leonard Gump and George Gump; two sisters, Pansy Britton and Evelyn Coen and set of infant twins, Louise and Louis Gump.

Surviving are three daughters, Georgia (Brad) Price of Jacksonburg, WV, Norma (Jerry) Barr of Jacksonburg, WV and Kimberly (Sam) Floyd of Pine Grove, WV; two brothers, Harold (Anita) Gump and Joseph Gump both of Pine Grove, WV; four sisters, Jean Coen, Delores Gump, and Marilyn (Leroy) Hostuttler all of Pine Grove, WV and Sue (Kenny) Hayhurst of Chester, WV; five grandchildren, Ashley, Zachary, Stephanie, Samantha and Makayla; four great grandchildren, Rylan, Cori, Tripp and Maddix and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2 – 8 p.m., Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home in Pine Grove, where service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2017 with Josh Bates officiating.

Burial to follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hastings, WV.
