Newton Edgar "Ed"  Higginbotham Sr.
Newton “Ed” Higginbotham, Sr., of New Martinsville, WV died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at his home.

Ed was born February 2, 1936 in Pricetown, WV, son of the late Okey Ray and Clara (Wines) Higginbotham.

He was a retired Sheriff for Wetzel County, member WV Sheriff’s Association, U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and a Protestant by faith.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-nine years, Shirley (Cross) Higginbotham; son, Newton (Terry) Higginbotham; daughter, Jill (Todd) Brown both of New Martinsville, WV; grandchildren, Newton (Jackie) Higginbotham, III of Maysville, WV, Alexandra (Jordan Raper) Higginbotham of Morgantown, WV and Bailey Brown of New Martinsville, WV; great grandson, Brayden Higginbotham and great granddaughter, Madison Arbogast.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Williams Funeral Home in Pine Grove, where service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017 with Pastor Jerry Kuhens officiating.

Interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.

Honor Guard to conduct graveside service.
